Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using CoatBoss ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

CoatBoss is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for painting contractors to measure rooms, calculate estimates, generate material lists, create proposals, collect electronic signatures, and process payments from clients.

3. Accounts & registration

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Subscription & billing

The Service offers Free, Starter ($49/month), and Pro ($99/month) tiers. Paid subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time from Settings > Manage Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.

Annual plans are billed upfront and provide a discount equivalent to two free months.

5. Payment processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. CoatBoss does not store credit card numbers. By enabling payment collection on proposals, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Connected Account Agreement.

6. Estimates & accuracy

Estimates generated by the Service are based on industry-standard formulas and the rates you configure. They are intended as professional aids, not guarantees. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of measurements entered and the final pricing presented to your clients.

7. AI color preview

The AI Color Preview feature uses generative AI to visualize paint colors on uploaded photos. Results are approximate renderings and may not perfectly match actual paint colors. Color accuracy depends on photo quality, lighting, and other factors.

8. Your data

You retain full ownership of all data you enter into the Service, including client information, job details, photos, and proposals. You may export or delete your data at any time.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) share your account with unauthorized parties; (c) attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service; (d) transmit viruses or malicious code.

10. Limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. CoatBoss shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost profits, business interruption, or inaccurate estimates.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support.

12. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
